Compulsory Competitions

Miss Global Princess South Africa is a prestigious and International Pageant, therefore, the Interview Competition is a great time to let the judges know just why they should pick you as the next Miss Global Princess South Africa Ambassador. Our judges are warm and friendly and are ready to have a one-on-one conversation with each contestant. At Miss Global Princess South Africa, there are no political, religious or text book questions. The judges just want to get to know who you are! Please see below information regarding Junior and Senior age group, outfit and timing requirements. Light make up is allowed for the interview for all age groups. Our interview will be a panel interview, so remember to answer your questions as interesting and impactful as possible.

All finalists should have a solid coloured interview outfit i.e. dress, suit with jacket or jumpsuit. It is best to have an outfit that reflect YOUR personality. No multi coloured, floral or patterned outfits allowed. Shoes can be any colour and age appropriate. Hair should be tied back and be out of the face minimal jewellery and light make up is allowed.

Age 4-9: Your interview will account for 20% of your total score

Age 10 – 15: Your interview will account for 30% of your score

Age 16-29: Your interview will account for 40% of your score

There will not be an interviews for our 2-3 year olds – MGPSA Tiny Division

The National Costume Showcase is a vibrant competition celebrating diversity and personal expression of our beautiful country through fashion. Contestants will design and present outfits that symbolize their heritage or cultural background, highlighting the significance of their attire.

Competition Structure

You will be judged based on creativity, cultural representation, and Costume presentation skills. Creativity: Originality in design and presentation of the outfit.

This competition not only highlights the beauty of cultural diversity but also empowers participants to share their stories and connect with their roots!

2-3 YEAR OLDS: National Costume will count 50% towards the final score

4-9 YEAR OLDS: National Costume will count 40% towards the final score

10-15 YEAR OLDS: National Costume will count 30% towards the final score

16-29 YEAR OLDS: National Costume will count 30% towards the final score

The Evening Wear – Pageant Dress Competition is your time to captivate the audience and judges with your elegance, confidence, and mastery of the stage. This competition goes beyond just wearing a beautiful gown—it’s about showcasing your
technique, poise, and overall presence.

Each contestant will model an outfit of her own choosing. It must be age appropriate, and it should portray the contestant’s personal sense of style and fashion. It can be as simple or ornate as you would like. Denim jeans are not permitted. Choose an outfit that you would wear to a Hollywood Premier or Red Carpet Event.

All contestants must wear a floor length or high-low gown that is fit for the red carpet. It must be extraordinary and eye catching. Think glam! The dress must be age appropriate and this will be the dress the winners will wear for the photo shoot on the day after the Red Carpet/Grand Finale Crowning. Contestants are judged on grace, poise and overall presentation.

2-3 YEAR OLDS: Red Carpet Gown will count 50% towards your overall score

JUNIORS 4-9: Red Carpet Gown will count 40% towards your overall score

JUNIORS 10-15: Red Carpet Gown will count 40% towards your overall score

SENIORS 16-29: Red Carpet Gown will count 30% towards your overall score

Each Junior Finalist will receive a Miss Global Princess T-Shirt and black Skinny Jeans to model in for the Casual Section. This section will mainly be based on technique.

  • 2-3 YEAR OLDS: Casual Outfit will count 50% towards the final score
  • 4-9 YEAR OLDS; Casual Outfit will ount 40% towards the final score
  • 10-15 YEAR OLDS: Casual Outfit will count 30% towards the final score

SENIORS ONLY (AGE 16 – 29)   Each Senior Finalist will provide their own personal style swimsuit. The swimsuit must reflect your personality best and be a WHITE PLAIN FULL swimsuit. We  would like to keep the Swimwear Category as tasteful as possible. NO THONGS allowed.

  • 16-29 YEAR OLDS: Swimwear Section will count 30% towards the final score

NON-COMPULSORY COMPETITIONS

The Photogenic Award celebrates the candidate whose beauty effortlessly translates through the lens. This accolade recognizes not just physical beauty but also the ability to capture the camera’s attention with charisma, expression, and a photogenic presence that leaves a lasting visual impression. Do you have a face that the camera loves? Do you love having your picture taken? Then the Photogenic Competition is your chance to show South Africa what you’ve got!

The winners of the Photogenic Competition will be selected from photo(s), sent to info@missglobalprincesssouthafrica.co.za before the 13th of March 2026. You may enter one, two, three, or four photos, with each photo providing another opportunity to win! Each photo is a separate entry and will be R450 each or R400 if 3 or more photos are entered. The photo(s) may be either colour or black and white; both do equally well and must be High Resolution quality only. No cellphone photos will be permitted. Please only submit photos taken by a professional photographer. Head shots generally work best. Makeup is allowed but must be age-appropriate. You may submit up to four photos total. Please include your Name, Surname and Photogenic Entry in the Subject line of the email.

Helpful Hints:

Try to select photo(s) that show a happy smile and reflect a positive personality.

The appearance of makeup in the photo should be appropriate for your age.

If you are having trouble selecting one photo from several, show them to a few people who do not know you; ask each person to rank the photos from their most favorite on down. This will help you select the photo(s) to enter.

Bottom Line: You want to achieve “Personality in a Picture.”

Pictures that convey excitement or emotion often do well.

The Spokes model Award recognizes the candidate who effectively represents the ideals and values of Miss Global Princess. This accolade celebrates the ability to articulate a powerful message, advocate for a cause, and inspire others through effective communication and representation.

The candidate chooses a global impactful topic and present the topic during non-compulsory competition. Age-appropriate makeup is allowed in all age divisions for this optional competition.

The Junior and Senior contestant with the highest score for this optional competition will present their Spokes model Speech at the Red Carpet Grand Finale.

Wow! Have you ever dreamed of being a model? Or perhaps being a news anchor or a leader in your school? A naturally confident smile and spoke delivery will combine to bring you success in this exciting contest, which was designed for us by a panel of journalist, queens, and successful models! The new titleholders will soon be Spokes model and Ambassador for Miss Global Princess South Africa.

Attire: Follow the “Junior interview Outfit” rules provided for the required interview competition. This will be applicable for the Junior and Senior Category. This means a solid coloured Jumpsuit, Dress, Jacket and pants etc. No patterned outfits and minimal jewellery and age appropriate make up and shoes.

Rules: The maximum time limit for your speech is 1 minute (60 seconds), which is ample time to deliver a speech of approximately 100 to 150 words. Since the limit is one of time, not words, your entry can be shorter or longer than 100 to 150 words, as long as you do not exceed 1 minute. Your time will begin when you arrive at the podium/performing space and begin speaking. Your time will end when you are finished speaking at the end of 1 minute, whichever occurs first. It is best to prepare your speech on white cardboard cards should you need to refer back to them. Please don’t read your speech, it must be mostly memorized. In composing your speech, you may recruit any help that you wish but be sure to use your own words!

Some topics that you may use but feel free to choose a topic of your own choice that you feel strongly about

  • You may speak about your “platform” or a topic that you are passionate about.
  • “My most admired woman” or “My favourite South African” (other than a family member)
  • “I CAN…”
  • “How we can make this world a better place”
  • “My favourite quality” (such as Honesty, Tolerance, Integrity or others)
  • “What friendship means to me”
  • “I am a girl with dreams”
  • “What does it mean to be a pageant girl”
  • “Why I love my Country”
  • “I’m proud to be a South African

The Academic Award is presented to the candidate who excels not only in beauty but also in intelligence. This accolade celebrates academic achievements, recognizing the candidate’s commitment to education, knowledge, and intellectual pursuits, showcasing the perfect blend of beauty and brains. One overall winner for this Category will receive a custom Award and a scholarship to a pre-selected establishment chosen by Miss Global Princess South Africa.

If you would like to be considered for this award you should submit your 2024 December Academic school or Tertiary Institution report to info@missgobalprincesssouthafrica.co.za by no later than the 13th of March 2026 via email. Please include your Name and Surname and Academic Award Entry in the Subject line. This contest focuses on your academic achievements and grade performance. You will truly grow as an individual as you strive for scholastic excellence … Set your goals and reach for them!

Helpful Hints:

For this contest, it may be helpful to use letters of recommendation, noteworthy certificates, or other items that give the judges added insight into your academic achievements. Be sure to request letters and transcripts early enough so there is time to have them sent to you – sometimes school offices are completely closed during holidays.

For our Best Photo shoot competition we are looking for finalists who know how to work their angles in front of a camera. This competition will be all about professionalism and poise in front of the camera and working well with a professional photographer. We will have a white plain backdrop during the duration of the pageant and finalists can choose any outfit of their choosing to pose in. Every finalist entering the Photo shoot Competition will receive 15 minutes in front of the camera where you will need to optimise your time and let the photographer see your ability to be creative and take direction. Photos from this photo shoot may be ordered directly from the photographer.

The Talent Award celebrates the candidate with a unique and exceptional talent that captivates and inspires. This accolade recognizes creativity, skill, and the ability to showcase a special talent that adds a distinct and memorable dimension to the pageant. This is an exciting competition that can be entered if you have a special talent that you would like to showcase. At Miss Global Princess we encourage our finalists to embrace their talents and by doing so, enriching themselves by improving self-esteem and communication skills. These talents can include dance, singing, acting or playing an instrument.

We will judge our talent competition online and all talent videos must be sent in before the 13th of March 2026 via email info@missgobalprincesssouthafrica.co.za. Please include your Name, Surname and Talent Entry in the Subject Line. All divisions, dancing, singing, acting and instrumental will be allowed 90 seconds only and should the video be longer than 90 seconds, please note that only the first 90 seconds will be judged. Please record your talent in an appropriate attire and space, i.e. dancers should try and use a dance studio, singers a microphone and instrumental and acting should have a plain background and not wear distracting clothing. Plain black is always a winner. Please use appropriate lighting for your performances and make sure your sound and video is clear.

In the digital era, the Social Media Award acknowledges the candidate who skilfully utilizes online platforms to inspire and connect. This accolade honours not just a strong social media presence but a positive, influential impact. It celebrates the candidate’s ability to leverage social media as a tool for advocacy, empowerment, and fostering a community of supporters. The best Social Media Award will go towards finalists who have posted, shared Miss Global Princess’s posts, and created her own content and posted it on Social Media starting from the finalist announcements right up to the pageant, also those posting Miss Global Princess Attire and Activities during finals. We are looking at Social Media platforms including:

Facebook, TikTok and Instagram. Please remember to tag @missglobalprincesssouthafrica when you do a post otherwise your post will may not be seen.

Helpful Hints:

When posting on Social Media, it would be advisable to do all posts in a black plain T Shirt free from any branding and Miss Global Princess Finalist Sash. Pre-Ordered Miss Global Princess T Shirts will be handed out at the Pageant. You can post aboutwhat the pageant means to you, what it will mean to you if you win, what you look most forward to at the pageant etc. You can also post live videos about any community work that you are doing, again with your Miss Global Princess Sash on. Just about anything. Please make sure that your audio is clear and you don’t add loud background music over your video. Age appropriate make-up is advisable.

Each Finalist will showcase an outfit of her choice that reflects her personality through fashion. This outfit should showcase fun and creativity. The outfit needs to be age-appropriate. Accessories are permitted but unfortunately no couture props like purses, bags or umbrellas will be allowed. Please refrain from denim attire. This competition will take place live, on stage during the pageant weekend.
